On foot along the promenade, by boat to see dolphins and by bus all the way up Teide – all from Ponderosa
Day 1
On foot along the coast to La Caleta

Playa de El Bobo
Start at the closest beach to Ponderosa.

Playa de Fañabé
A swim and a sunbed on Costa Adeje's longest beach.

Playa del Duque
The elegant stretch of the promenade, with boutiques at Plaza del Duque.

13:30–19:30
La Caleta – beach and snorkelling
A fish lunch by the sea, snorkelling in the bay and the sunset (in total about 5 km and 1 h 15 min on foot from Ponderosa).
Our tip
To get back, take a taxi (a few euros) or an Uber, which operates in the south. The promenade is flat all the way, so it's fine with a pushchair too.
Day 2
Dolphins from Puerto Colón and an evening in Las Américas

Water Sports Tenerife – jet skis and parasailing
The marina is within walking distance of Ponderosa. Boat trips to see pilot whales and dolphins last 2–3 hours – ideally choose a boat with the “Barco Azul” certificate.

A calm beach right next to the marina.

Avenida de las Américas
Walk along the promenade (~30 min) to the lively Las Américas district with its restaurants and shops.
Our tip
Alternative for families: a whole day at Siam Park, which is close to Ponderosa by taxi or even on foot.
Day 3
By bus to Teide (route 342)

Playa de las Américas bus station (TITSA) and taxis
TITSA route 342 runs only once a day: 9:25 from Costa Adeje, 9:40 from Los Cristianos. Pay with a contactless card or with the ten+ tourist pass (1 day for €10).

Teide cable car (Teleférico del Teide)
Buy your cable car ticket online with a slot around 12:00. At the top you'll find the La Fortaleza and Pico Viejo viewpoints.

Roques de García and Llano de Ucanca
A short walk around the rock towers. The bus back leaves the Parador at around 16:00 (from the cable car at 15:40).

Aqualand Costa Adeje
An evening of rest by the pool.
Our tip
There's only one bus back – miss it and you'll be paying for an expensive taxi. The cable car doesn't run in strong winds; if that happens, stay around Roques de García and the El Portillo visitor centre (same bus route). Alternative: bus 477 to Los Gigantes (50 min) and a boat trip beneath the cliffs.
