About

In just a few minutes the cabin whisks you from 2,356 m up to the La Rambleta top station at 3,555 m, less than 200 vertical metres below the summit. Up top, short trails lead to the La Fortaleza viewpoint and to the Pico Viejo crater viewpoint (PNT 12 is open access), with views of La Gomera and other islands. The ticket also includes the ‘Science and Legend’ exhibition at the base station.

Our tip

In strong wind or icy conditions the cable car doesn't run – check the status on volcanoteide.com (Teide Today) in the morning and have a backup plan, such as the Roques de García loop. The air is thin up there, so take it slowly; the car park at the base station has only around 220 spaces.
