Day 1
Friday – a slow start and golden hour

Our tip
The best months for sunsets are October to March, when the sun sets behind La Gomera.
Day 2
Saturday – sailing and stargazing

Freebird – whale watching by catamaran
A cruise with swimming and snorkelling, often with dolphins. Smaller boats for 2–12 people are more intimate than the big catamarans.

Playa de San Juan
A late lunch of fresh fish in a small fishing town (the owner recommends Agua y Sal).

Sunset and stars on Teide – Night Skies Tenerife
Teide is a protected Starlight Reserve with some of the darkest skies in Europe. Join an organised tour with an astronomer and telescopes, or take an evening ride on the Volcano Teide cable car (max. 90 people).
Our tip
After sunset it's only about 5–10 °C at 2,000 m (below freezing in winter), so bring a warm jacket and a blanket. The stars are best when there's no moon – check a moon phase calendar.
Day 3
Sunday – Masca and a farewell dinner

Masca
The island's most dramatic mountain road and coffee with a view into the gorge. Set off early, before the roads fill up.

Relax by the sea or in a hotel spa in Costa Adeje (many also welcome non-residents).

If you want one “wow” moment without a car, swap Masca for a sunset boat trip beneath the Los Gigantes cliffs.
