About
A small mountain hamlet perched on a rocky spur above a ravine – stone cottages, palms and terraces that, before the road was built, were linked to the outside world only by mule tracks. A handful of cafés and restaurants with terraces, views of the Teno peaks and the start of the famous Barranco de Masca.
Our tip
The village car park has only a few dozen spaces, and during wildfire alerts the road is closed to visitors – it's easier to leave the car in Santiago del Teide and take the 355 bus up (about 20 minutes).
