About
The legendary descent from the village of Masca through a narrow gorge with walls hundreds of metres high, down to a small beach by the sea, where a boat takes you beneath the Los Gigantes cliffs. Since December 2025 a pilot scheme has been in place: descent only (no ascent is offered), a compulsory 355 shuttle bus from Santiago del Teide and a named booking with a set start time. The terrain is rocky, with some scrambling over boulders.
Our tip
Be at the 355 bus in Santiago del Teide at least an hour before your slot, book your boat for no later than 4 hours after your start time, and get back to your car from Los Gigantes on bus 462 or 325. No children under 8; walking boots are compulsory.
