About
The historic centre of the university city of La Laguna (UNESCO) is a pedestrian zone of colourful colonial houses, cafés and little shops – especially along Obispo Rey Redondo and Herradores. On the Plaza del Cristo there's a municipal market with local fruit, cheeses and flowers. A completely different atmosphere from the touristy south.
Our tip
It's often cooler in the north and rains more often – bring a sweatshirt. Leave the car in a multi-storey car park and explore the centre on foot.
