About

A wild mountain range on the island's north-eastern tip, cloaked in laurisilva – a humid laurel forest, a relic of the ancient forests that once grew all around the Mediterranean. It's a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of jagged ridges, mist drifting through the treetops, hamlets such as Taganana and Chinamada, and black beaches beneath the cliffs. The owner's link points to the viewpoint by the tunnel above Taganana.

Our tip

Bring a jacket – even when it's 28 °C in the south, Anaga can be misty and 15 °C. For the end of 2026 the Cabildo is planning shuttle buses from La Laguna (Las Canteras) to Cruz del Carmen and Pico del Inglés, with trail reservations to follow later, so check the current rules before you go.
