About
The highest village in the Canary Islands (around 1,400 m) sits on the TF-21 from the south up to Teide. It has a peaceful square with the historic church of San Pedro, terraced fields and, above the village, mighty Canary pines – the best known, Pino Gordo, is one of the largest on the island. It's also the starting point for the Paisaje Lunar hike.
Our tip
This is the last petrol station before the national park, so fill up. You'll find Pino Gordo just above the village, by the road towards Teide.
