About
White and cream towers of weathered volcanic tuff in the middle of the Canary pine forest above Vilaflor look like something from another planet. The waymarked PR-TF 72 loop starts right in the village and climbs through the forest to viewpoints above the rock formations. You can't drive up to them – this is a proper full-day hike.
Our tip
Before you set off, check on tenerifeon.es that it isn't a mouflon control day – the trail is closed on those days. Take at least 1.5 litres of water per person, and when you get back treat yourself to something warm in one of Vilaflor's restaurants.
