About

A seawater lido designed by César Manrique and a symbol of Puerto de la Cruz since 1977. The large lake with its little islands, the smaller pools, the palms and the sculptures feel like a work of art beside the ocean. Following recent renovations (the main lake, new sunloungers) the complex is open; other parts, such as the children's pirate ship, are being repaired one by one.

Our tip

When the sea is rough on the north coast and the beaches are closed, Lago Martiánez is a safe bet – you can swim in seawater with no waves.
