About
A historic acclimatisation garden founded in 1788 by order of King Charles III – tropical plants from the colonies were meant to get used to the climate here before being shipped on to mainland Spain. Just under three hectares are home to palms, giant fig trees with aerial roots, bromeliads and trees from all over the world.
Our tip
Parking nearby is limited – try the side streets above the garden. The owner recommends combining the garden with a wander round the rest of Puerto de la Cruz.
